What is SpecialsAgent.com?

SpecialsAgent.com is a new search engine for bar and restaurant specials; users can find deals on SpecialsAgent.com as well as other web, mobile and social networking platforms. SpecialsAgent.com provides accurate, up-to-date specials that are searchable relative to a user’s location.

What is a SpecialOp?

A SpecialOp is a heavily discounted deal negotiated by SpecialsAgent.com to help our users save money at some of your favorite bars and restaurants. All you need to do is buy the deal, and when the SpecialOp closes out, we’ll send you a Clearance Document that you can redeem any time you’d like (excluding, of course, any restrictions that may be involved).

How does a SpecialOp work?

Each SpecialOp has a minimum number of participants required for everyone to receive the deal. This is indicated by the "Must Be Sold" number. If the SpecialOp says "Remaining" instead of "Must Be Sold," that means the required number has been reached and there is a now a limit to the total that can be purchased.

Your credit card is not charged unless and until a SpecialOp is successful. If the required number of participants is not reached, your card is not charged...but you don't get the deal either. So tell your friends!

When a SpecialOp is successful, we'll email you a Clearance Document. Present this Clearance Document to the venue to redeem your SpecialOp.

How can venues afford to offer SpecialOp deals?

The concept is similar to membership warehouses like Costco (TM) or Sam's Club (TM). When you buy in bulk, things get cheaper. Venues offer these huge deals because of the power of cooperative purchasing.

How much does it cost to have specials featured on the site?

Featuring deals on the website is completely free for bars and restaurants.

How much does it cost for users to find specials?

Searching for specials is completely free for users as welike ll. If you wish to redistribute or make commercial use of our data, please contact us.

How can owners/managers edit specials?

There are four ways to provide “specials intelligence” for a bar/restaurant. Managers can do any of the following:

1. Create your own account and Contact Us so you can easily edit your specials yourself.
2. Call your specials in to SpecialsAgent.com at 847.859.3100.
3. Email your specials directly to specials [at] specialsagent.com or respond to a reminder email we send to you.
4. Subscribe your existing specials email to specials [at] specialsagent.com.

What constitutes a special?

Specials are loosely defined. A special can be anything from “soup of the day” to “1/2 priced bottles of wine.” They can be limited to a certain time of day, or any other specification that a venue chooses to attach. Once a manager has his own login and password, he can edit specials at any time of day, as far in advance that he’d like, and the specials will be refreshed daily.

What are all these Twitter accounts for?

The SpecialsAgent.com Twitter account in each market area will tweet daily Special Ops for all of their followers to see. If a bar or restaurant would like to promote its daily specials using Twitter, we can set up an account for them that will automatically send out specials based upon the information that we have in our website. If a user has a special that we don’t know about, they can tweet it our way as well.
